TIEKE

A SongBird Introduction

The Song Birds (clade passeri) are the Largest Family of Birds On the Planet, made up of over 5,000 Members. This is one of those true short stories.

The Saddleback Bird

Tieke is one of the worlds quickest birds upon short approach and is famous for a historical event that occurred in 1964. Tieke is also known as the Saddleback bird and in 1964, was on the brink of extinction. The New Zealand Wildlife Service were able to rescue 36 Tieke birds from rat infested Big South Cape Island. This was the worlds first ever translocation of a species, saving it from becoming extinct. Today this is one of the greatest true inspiring stories in New Zealand’s history.

It is my pleasure to honor and display educational short stories for young and old. I hope this will brighten your day or to bring a smile to your face.

Stand by

Stand by your virtues, regardless of where those around you may stand. Your soul will guide you through the truth and you needn’t be afraid of an unpopular opinion when it comes from a place of love and kindness. If dark shadows seem to stretch across the land, that’s only because an immense light is just behind the horizon.

Musics Gifts: Love for all, all for Love

As many of you may know by now, my passion for music is beyond words. My love for every Genre may not be understood by all…however I do know the amazing history…and undoubtedly believe in educating self for the greater good purposes. What does Music mean to you? What I know for sure is Black communities are the creators of many major American musical movements, including jazz, blues, rock’n’roll, soul, and I should add the origins of many centuries old African musical instruments… one of many examples, is the early stringed banjo. The banjo was essential in early folk and country music. Loving all music means acknowledging the black communities, gifting the world with heart and soul. May we all find Peace and Clarity in the true meaning of Black Lives Matter.

Pop define

This Genre is often referred to as Popular Music. There are several factors involved which render the definition of Pop. You may say pop bonds in diverse communities in dance, rock, urban, country, Latin, folk, jazz, and so on. Pop Genre is a distinct forum of its own, created to appeal to all walks of life or a general audience vs other genres that were known to aim at a particular culture belief or manner. The term “pop” was first used in 1926, naming any popular song of the times of any Genre format, as simply popularity in culture. Its character and expressiveness can be perceived to target teenagers since its actual new birth of the 1940’s. Because of the new technology during the 40’s ( microphone & tech sounds ), the pop star was born and was now known as an intimate vocal presence to the listener. This was a historical revolutionary movement, not to mention the birth of television which helped increase the artists appearance visually to millions, resulting in many new recording artists Popularity.

No Music without Rhythm

Rhythm is an essential component of Music, and a reproduction of the rhythm that our own bodies produce. Like many other Genres, Pop Music has evolved and must continue to evolve. In terms of social bonding, Music can be adaptive for the sole purpose to lift our spirits and increase our well being in a more conducive reproduction. I put together a playlist of today’s pop music and branded as ” Rythmsphere”. Adding new released pop songs weekly. You are welcomed to check in for the latest Pop sounds of 2020.

A Lifetime of Music

<p value="<amp-fit-text layout="fixed-height" min-font-size="6" max-font-size="72" height="80">There are over several million songs launched into the world each year from every corner of the globe. This is quite a bit of Music right? Have you ever wondered how many songs you have listened to in your lifetime? I believe most of us would say something like…why would I even bother to know how many? Perhaps a silly question? Its an innocent question, humor me. I may be old school but what I know for sure folks is one of the most beautiful gifts an individual will ever feel and experience in this world, is the Power of Music. Its presence anchors Love, Inspiration, Peace, Hope, and Humanity. Music is something that should never be taken for granted. My Friends are Genres

If I were to guess how many songs I have listened to in my lifetime, mine would be close to a couple million songs. My friends are Genres indeed. I have held several jobs in my life, and each one given the opportunity to plug in headphones or earpiece and tune in while I worked. Pending the mood of the day, I listened to Jazz, Blues, Country, Gospel, Folk, R&B, Classical, Pop, Rock and need I mention all the subgenres like soul, metal, rap, tejano, techno, Indie, and so many more. I am truly fortunate to find many profound miracles in each and every Genre. There are so many songs, as you can imagine, that deserve more exposure (share gifts).

Mental Escape

I created this P.L. for the purpose to be heard by any open bright minded individual (describes you the Music fan). One who probably has not had the opportunity to hear and feel some of these tunes. I get the part of many being too busy to listen in, due to the job or family activities. Just know that it is important to give your brain a chance to escape, after all it is healthy to maintain a fresh mental state of mind regardless of your background. FACT: Music is the ONLY ACTIVITY in this WORLD to USE 100% of your brain. All other activities use only a portion of your brain. Ear devices recommended always!

A Song for the Ages

These songs deserve more exposure or the opportunity to be rediscovered, but that’s a matter of opinion. The great thing about Music is discovering something new that touches you (ear worm). Something that perhaps has relevance in your life, or if you have a musicians ear, you pickup notes and keys of a certain instrument that is kind of cool and inspires. Nonetheless for what it’s worth, hope you enjoy any of these gifts…even if there is just one song that tugs your interest… then that’s the gift we all share with one another. A Song for the ages. United in Song.

Questions from the young generation

What was your favorite year in music growing up?

Answer: That would be 1979. I am a 70’s child, and getting the chance to witness music culture evolving into the 80’s was an exciting experience. 79 had some amazing music from each and every genre. I was raised into a music loving family. Not only did my mother love top of the pop charts, but she also enjoyed the sounds of 50’s and 60’s rock&roll. My grandaddy was an accordion musician during the 1940’s and was a heavy listener of country music ( He is my hero and a good man rip pops). My sister was listening to current pop, dance, R&B sounds of the day. I had many aunt’s, uncles, and a slew of cousins who introduced me to the likes of jazz, classical, folk, soul, hard rock, new wave, latino, glam, rap, and gospel. I was a member of the school choir from grades 3 to 7th grade ( I will never forget my music teacher, she is one of the most kindest, sweet, warm, gentle souls I have ever known). One of my proud achievements is a 1979 playlist which took me months to create if you are interested or curious to hear.

Why do people do ghosting?

Answer: The term “ghosting,” refers to someone vanishing from your life without reason. If you attempt to contact he/she who ghosted you, they likely avoid answering your calls and do not respond to texts or your emails. Some do not know how to manage fear and embrace education. Or its simply stubborn pride. Most people who ghost on others do so for one or more of the following reasons:

  • They have a history of avoiding difficult conversations.
  • They find it easier to just disappear than tell the truth.
  • They rationalize ghosting as less harmful than telling you they no longer wish to be your friend. Even though they keep you on their wall as a number.
  • They do not care about the other person’s feelings, just their own.
  • Some people believe that if they leave without any explanation, it will be easier to return later.
  • They want to preserve their image as a good person. If they told you to your face that they no longer want to communicate with you, they could not avoid seeing your hurt feelings, anger, and disappointment. They would then feel like a bad person for hurting you.

Dear SongBird, If the U.S. is in depression, why is the stock market going up? I overheard on tv but didn’t understand.

Answer: No worries, you are not alone my friend. First... no place to put money, no single thing is being paid in the bond markets, so when rates go up, bonds go down. Second…the immense stimulus monies will be spent, in which helps the economy. And there may be some who ignore the fact that the economy will be weak for some time. Not certain for how long, but a V recovery may not occur. In March, the market took a historical hit when COVID-19 came into the picture.

But here is where we should all be optimistic… historically markets have been able to rebound from hard drops. For what it’s worth, I believe we will have a fragile period in stock prices. It will be hard to see the economy bouncing back, with so many business struggling and so many people with no job. It will take a good amount of time to get people into working form again. If 67% of the economy is based on people buying and we have double digit jobless, does it appear the stock market is being rational? My life’s experiences lean towards:… markets are priced based on expectations, and those expectations can and do change at a moments notice. This is a wonderful High Schooler question. Next time you see your economics teacher, ask her/him to discuss more details.

How much Music is released around the world every year?

Answer: Are you ready for the big number? With respects to the Music community as a whole ( All Genres ), the average number is around seven million as of 2019. This number includes all Album songs, EP’s, Promotionals, and so forth. Decades ago, the number was 38,000 but our global village has grown since. For these millennium times, we have seen tremendous amounts of Artists’ from all walks of life, and of course modern technology has provided some helpful creative tools for anyone who has the courage to make a demo-record in there own home or garage. Great Question, I always wondered that many years ago and to see the numbers as they are today is simply amazing!

Why is the bass guitar so difficult to play?

<p value="<amp-fit-text layout="fixed-height" min-font-size="6" max-font-size="72" height="80">Answer: This is an instrument I wanted to learn to play during high school, and finally purchased one when I turned 19 to learn. Yes most people are not aware of the challenge of such a beautiful instrument can create. The bass has to do two things at the same time. Accentuate the melody and reinforce the rhythm. This is in addition to generally being head-heavy, and having a string spacing and fret spacing that are … uncomfortable for most hands. Above the level of ‘hit the tonic with the kick drum’, the bass player’s headspace is very different from that of the drummer or the person playing the melody. The bass player has to sustain the pulse. Easy enough, eh? Answer: This is an instrument I wanted to learn to play during high school, and finally purchased one when I turned 19 to learn. And (uncertain part here) anticipate the melody. In a rock or blues setting that ranges from simple to complex. As the setting becomes more improvisational, the complexity increases. Listen to Charlie Mingus working with Thelonious Monk ( I know its not bass guitar, but just an example). That’s teamwork that doesn’t come in a day respectfully. My advice, (and take it for what it’s worth) listen to not just bass players, listen outside of your Genre. And an enormous amount of practice, even if only in your mind. I so love this question, check back with me anytime my friend!

How is memorizing chords of a song a bad habit for guitar beginners?

Answer: If someone told you that memorizing chords is a bad habit, you should politely ignore the suggestion from the individual. Memorizing chords, progressions, and also lyrics, is essential for anyone who has the ambition to perform publicly. It looks far more professional for an artist to perform without the distraction of a music stand. In addition, many songs have similar chord progressions so memorizing one song will help you with others. You got this, believe in yourself… remember think big and don’t listen to those who say it shouldn’t or cannot be done, life’s too quick to think small.

My favorite actor is Keanu Reeves, do you have any facts about him that others may not know?

One of mine too! Certainly. Keanu’s name is Hawaiian meaning ” Cool breeze over the mountain”. In his early teen years, he played a great amount of ice hockey and actually dreamed of representing Canada in the Olympics but chose to pursue acting career. Reeves worked 2 part-time jobs during high school to save money to relocate to L.A.( grocery store & an ice skate sharpener). He can play the bass guitar and actually played in a band. Just a few years ago, the Media revealed he was secretly donating millions to Children’s Hospitals across the country as well as cancer research.

Can you let me know of great book to read to my younger brother? He is 6.

Absolutely. Teaching Children Philosophy and one of my all time Classic Favorites is “The Story of Ferdinand”. American Author Wilbur Monroe Leaf writes about the Young Ferdinand, who does not enjoy butting heads with other young calves, preferring instead to sit under a tree smelling the flowers. His mother is concerned that he might be lonely, and tries to persuade him to play with the other calves, but when she sees that Ferdinand is all smiles with content, she lets him be to his enjoyment.

Why has no one hit Chef Gordan Ramsay?

Answer: The first line of defense is Ramsay himself. When you watch shows, on a few occasions, people tried to hit him and he blocked them and says “Don’t be stupid.” If Chef had fear, the show does have body guards behind the scenes that can take down anyone before anything serious occurs. Also lets note, television is not real life. People are told that they are going to get yelled at for the sake of tv ratings, so expect some verbal abuse. There is an old saying, ” If you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen”. On his U.K. and Australian shows, he is very polite and nice. It’s an act. SongBird loves these questions!

Is there a country whose people are not exposed to Covid-19?

Answer: There are 12 countries without Covid-19 cases as of May the 6th 2020. N.Korea, Turkmenistan, Lesotho, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga, Marshall Islands, Palau, Micronesia, and Tuvalu.

If Biden runs for President, can he legally nominate Obama as his Vice President?

<p value="<amp-fit-text layout="fixed-height" min-font-size="6" max-font-size="72" height="80">Answer: The real question is, can a member of the Electoral College legally cast a vote for Barack Obama for the office of Vice President? And the answer to that one is “we don’t know”. The 12th Amendment clearly states “no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States”, this means an individual ineligible to be President cannot be Vice-President. However….the 22nd Amendment states “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice”. But the question is in regards to VP and not the Presidency. The 22nd Amendment STATES NOTHING about who is eligible to be elected to the office of the Vice President, nor does it mention anything about who is eligible to be President. Is the lowest note on a guitar the G# note, or am I counting in the wrong direction?

Lowest in tone is the E on the low E string. As far as lowest in position, the key and name of the scale determine the root and C is the root and it occurs first in the standard teaching of the Major C scale and therefore, the lowest (it’s standard for teaching).

Luigi Russolo – Futurist

<p value="<amp-fit-text layout="fixed-height" min-font-size="6" max-font-size="72" height="80">Imagine a time where the only booming sounds you would hear came from Mother Nature's thunderstorm's . Normal everyday Life was silent normalcy for centuries …. and then came the steam engine…factories blossomed… the world would dramatically change for decades into the early twentieth-century .

Luigi Carlo Filippo Russolo was an Italian artist born in April 1885 . His interests in art grew greater as a teenager, creating many paintings . Russolo’s first opportunity occurred in Milan 1909, displaying his etchings to the public which gave him some notoriety. The following year he would join the Manifesto of Futurist Painters, this was a group which shouted for a rebellion to all young artists of Italy against the old idealisms’ that were embedded into the countries beliefs. Russolo was that guy who grabbed your attention with obscene or strange artwork and vocal disturbance.

Paint it Disturbance

Russolo had to hold off all his projects due to the global war years ending in 1918. Additionally he was injured during this time period, however he was able to recover and focus on his instrumental inventions. It should be noted Russolo is regarded to many as the first noise music maker. A strange appearance to all that gathered to watch these group of gadgets which Russolo named them “Intonarumori “. And the sounds were disturbing to the ear, especially to those who held Beethoven close to the heart. Many of Russolo’s instruments did not survive the second world war. Replicas were made yes, but the originals are gone. Today we celebrate his wisdom and talents as an artist of the times. His works would inspire a music industry opening a doorway to several new genres during the twentieth century.
